The Management Department prepares students to be leaders in innovative, entrepreneurial and technology settings that includes large established firms, small and medium sized growth businesses, and entrepreneurial startups. We contribute scholarly research and innovative instructional programs addressing cutting edge organizations, creativity, new forms of organizing, flexible and nimble organizations, and organizations in the information age and the idea economy.
Students earning an emphasis in Management will learn the skills and tools needed to lead successful organizations from projects to departments and small businesses to global enterprises. Management coursework at the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business is diverse because managing today and in the future requires a strong set of skills and abilities that includes entrepreneurial strategy, human resource management, human behavior in organizations, information systems/analytics, operations management, business law, diversity and inclusion, and leadership and ethics.

Human Resource Management (HRM) is a specialized management track for those interested in helping employees meet professional goals and organizations optimize employee talent in order to directly enhance business results.

Occupations in supply chain management are among the highest paid business professions, and SCM specialists are among the most sought after job candidates.

This four-year program trains and prepares students for an academic career at institutions having both teaching and research missions.

This graduate certificate program will prepare supply chain professionals for successful careers by training them in operations management, analytics, sourcing/procurement, logistics, distribution, transportation, information technology, and decision sciences.

Entrepreneurship Minor
Students pursuing a Minor in Entrepreneurship value innovation, hard work, and self-sufficiency. The required coursework focuses on developing creativity, identifying opportunities for innovation, and the skills needed to manage a new organization.
Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation
The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation brings together many offerings under one central hub so students can maximize their potential. Housed in the Management Department in the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business, the CEI offers programming and events that promise a top-notch entrepreneurial education.
Entrepreneurship Alliance
The Entrepreneurial Alliance is an initiative designed to foster a culture of innovation at MU. The movement is motivated by students who see the value in entrepreneurship and is fueled by business leaders who know that growth during a down economy depends on startups.
MANAGEMENT MATTERS MAGAZINE
In June 2021, the inaugural issue of Management Matters was published. This annual publication aims to share research, teaching, student engagement and community engagement accomplished by our Management Department faculty, and guided by our industry advisory board.
