Steps To Apply For Graduation

Step 1: Schedule a graduation plan appointment

All students admitted to the Upper-Level are required to have a meeting with their assigned academic advisor to create a graduation plan. Please login to MU Connect and schedule an appointment under the following meeting reason: "General Academic Advising" > "Graduation Plan."

During your appointment, an advisor will review your academic progress, discuss minors, certificates, and/or dual majors, and map out remaining semesters before graduation. Students will sign off on their expected graduation date and requirements they must meet for the Trulaske College of Business.

Advisors will then enter an official expected graduation date into a student's academic profile in myZou. Students are expected to communicate with their advisor if their plans for graduation change.

Step 2: Submit campus-wide graduation application

After an expected graduation date has been entered in myZou, students will need to complete the myZou graduation application. This application will not be available until the semester before your expected graduation date. The Registrar will send students an email prompting them to complete the application before the priority deadline. The deadlines for the myZou graduation application can be found on the University's academic calendar

Submitting this application before the priority deadline ensures that your name will be listed in the commencement program booklet and that you are awarded your degree.

Graduation Checklist

In addition to University general education requirements, undergraduate business students must meet the following BSBA requirements:

  • Students may take no more than six credit hours of transfer business coursework at the 3000-4000 level. This includes Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing courses.
  • Students must maintain a minimum 2.50 cumulative business GPA in all MU Accountancy, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing courses.
  • Students must earn a total of 200 Edge points.
  • All students must complete an internship and apply for the BUS AD 4500 internship course.  Students will need to apply for the course in the semester they are planning on doing an internship before the deadline. Must be approved in order to officially enroll. This course is graded as Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory.
  • Management or Marketing students are allowed to use 3000-4000 level non-business coursework towards their Emphasis Support requirement in completion of a non-business minor, certificate, and/or dual degree. The non-business program must be fully completed to be used towards the Emphasis Support requirement. Removing a non-business program from your degree plan or not meeting course/GPA requirements for the program will result in the need to find alternative coursework to meet emphasis support requirement.
  • Students must complete the Civics Exam prior to graduation.
