Matteo Binfarè
Matteo Binfarè is an Assistant Professor in the Finance Department at the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business, University of Missouri. Professor Binfarè's research focuses on alternative investments and corporate finance, with an emphasis on university endowments, foundations, and pension funds. His work on university endowments received the Two Sigma Award for Best Paper on Investment Management at the 2019 Western Finance Association meetings. Professor Binfarè's research has been published in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and the Review of Finance. His work has also been featured in Financial Times FundFire, Institutional Investor, and the CFA Institute's Enterprising Investor.
He earned his doctorate in finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and both an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in finance from Bocconi University. Prior to his Ph.D., Binfarè worked in Debt Capital Markets (DCM) and Structured Finance at Mediobanca, an Italian investment bank. He has passed all three levels of the CFA program.
