The Herbert J. Davenport Society

The Herbert J. Davenport Society, founded in the tradition of the Trulaske College of Business' first dean, instills the value of excellence that Davenport represented. The society is a symbol of the enduring interest of its members in the welfare of the college. Members of the society are the backbone of the Trulaske College of Business and ensure the college's continued preeminence.

The Herbert J. Davenport Society was formed to encourage private participation in the support and development of the college, and its membership is dedicated to securing the future of the Trulaske College of Business. Through their active involvement, society members contribute to the college’s success and sustain Davenport's vision of excellence.

Membership

Membership in The Herbert J. Davenport Society is open to all alumni and friends of the Trulaske College of Business. In the case of donor and spouse, membership may be joint.

Six levels of participation are available:

A $5,000,000 current contribution or an investment of $1,000,000 annually for 5 years

A $1,000,000 current contribution or an investment of $200,000 annually for 5 years

A $500,000 current contribution or an investment of $100,000 annually for 5 years

A $250,000 current contribution or an investment of $50,000 annually for 5 years

A $100,000 current contribution or an investment of $20,000 annually for 5 years

A $50,000 current contribution or an investment of $10,000 annually for 5 years

Use of Society Funds

Membership in The Herbert J. Davenport Society is an investment in the future of the Trulaske College of Business. Funds from the society may be used in any of the following ways:

Undesignated funds are used to support areas of priority as determined by the dean of the Trulaske College of Business. Funds may be designated by the donor to be used for such purposes as faculty support, facilities and equipment, scholarships, or program enhancement.

If desired, donors may request that part or all of their investment be placed in a permanently endowed fund. The use of income from an endowment fund will be determined by the dean of the Trulaske College of Business unless otherwise designated by the donor. The donor may designate the name of the endowment fund as well as the use for its income.

The Herbert J. Davenport Society provides the following to its members:

  • An avenue for the active interest and participation of alumni and friends in the affairs of the college
  • Up-to-date news and information about the purposes, programs, plans, and visions of the Trulaske College of Business
  • An opportunity for society members to learn about and use the Trulaske College of Business services and resources, including the expertise of its faculty and administration
  • Recognition to alumni and friends of the college who are devoted to maintaining its excellence
  • An opportunity for college supporters who share a common ideal - the advancement of the Trulaske College of Business - to enjoy a personal and professional camaraderie in pursuing this objective
