Umit Yilmaz is an assistant professor in the Finance Department at the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business. His research focuses on corporate finance, with an emphasis on financial institutions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility. His work has been published in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. His work has also been featured in the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Fortune.
Prior to joining Mizzou, Yilmaz was a postdoctoral research associate at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He earned his doctorate in finance from the Swiss Finance Institute and USI Lugano. He also has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Bilkent University and a master’s degree in economics from Sabanci University.
