
Shannon Ferguson
Shannon Ferguson is currently serving as the Director of Business Career Services. In this role, Ferguson oversees strategic initiatives to assist student in achieving successful outcomes at the time of graduation. These outcomes are driven by students attending and networking with employers at career fairs in addition to the multitude of employer events facilitated on campus by our career services team. Our team also meets with and supports students in one on one meetings to understand their individual career goals and design plans to empower them to use tools provided by Trulaske to achieve these goals. Our most recent initiatives include utilizing artificial intelligence to assist students in matching their skills to opportunities of interest, pairing current students to Trulaske alumni and employers in mentoring relationships and welcoming employers into programming offered to students through our Trulaske EDGE program.
Previously, Ferguson served the University of Missouri as the Director of the 150-hour and Master of Accountancy programs and assisted with various strategic plans to further the objectives of our nationally ranked accountancy program. In this role, Ferguson advised students in the 150-hour program as they complete coursework and pursue a career within the field of accounting. Ferguson coordinated directly with firms and corporations in order to increase internship opportunities for current students and full-time placement rates for the graduates of the program. Additionally, Ferguson coordinated the school’s study abroad program to London to visit public accounting firms, international corporations and a regulatory agency.
In Fall 2018, the Master of Accountancy degree was launched online where Ferguson served as an advisor for students in this program and assisted with program development. Ferguson worked with the Graduate Programs Office to facilitate the marketing and admissions process for incoming students as well as internship and job placements. Ferguson has also taught in an adjunct faculty role the following coursework: Intro to Accounting for non-business majors, International Accounting, and Audit Theory and Practice.
