Michelle Kemp

Director of Undergraduate Student Services, Online Initiatives

Michelle Kemp serves as the Director of Undergraduate Student Services for Online Initiatives within the Trulaske College of Business.  She assumed this role in March, 2017 in advance of the launch of the College's Online BSBA Program.

In her role, Kemp oversees the recruitment efforts for the undergraduate online program.  She also provides advising support for all online undergraduate students, providing one-on-one course planning, overseeing graduation applications, academic actions, etc.  Kemp is responsible for program management and assessment as well as long-term planning including recruitment and outreach strategy, communication regarding program initiatives and successes, strategic planning and course needs evaluation.

Kemp has been with the University of Missouri since 2010 and with the College of Business since 2013, previously serving as the Director of Professional Development.  She has served as the advisor for MizzouThon, the university's largest philanthropic student organization, since 2013 and served as the college's DECA advisor from 2014 - 2018.   She participated in Leadership Columbia in 2015 and served as a Columbia Chamber Ambassador from 2015-2018.  In addition to her campus involvement, Kemp is heavily involved in her community as well.

Kemp has a variety of previous teaching experience.  While working at William Woods University, she was extensively involved in the creation of their freshman transition coursework which she later taught.  She then served as a Co-Director of William Woods' Freshman Bridge program.  In addition to program coordination, she taught the transition course and Public Speaking.  In addition, she has previously taught for William Woods' adult studies program, teaching, Organizational Leadership and a career course.  At Mizzou, Kemp has taught Business Administration 3500 and 4500 and served as a lab instructor for Business Administration 1500.

Kemp earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and her Masters in Business Administration from William Woods University also completing coursework for an emphasis in Healthcare Administration and Human Resources.  She proudly became a Mizzou Tiger when she earned a second Master's degree, this time in Public Affairs. 

Kemp lives in Fulton with her husband, Jason, and their two children.
