Fred Bereskin
Fred Bereskin is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business, University of Missouri. Dr. Fred Bereskin’s research focuses on empirical corporate finance. He earned his doctorate from the University of Rochester, and held previous faculty appointments at the University of Delaware and Drexel University. Prior to his Ph.D., Dr. Bereskin earned a Bachelor of Mathematics from Canada’s University of Waterloo. He’s been recognized for outstanding teaching achievement at numerous universities, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. His research has been published in prominent peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Management Science, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Law and Economics, Journal of Banking & Finance, Financial Management, and Journal of Applied Corporate Finance. His research has also been featured in the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance, Columbia Law School Blue Sky Blog, the Duke University FinReg Blog, and the Technology & Policy Research Initiative. He has received numerous conference and college awards for his research. Within Trulaske, Dr. Bereskin has previously served as the Department of Finance’s interim chair, as well as its Ph.D. coordinator.
Dr. Bereskin is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and has served on several non-profit boards of directors. His previous industry experience includes roles in fixed-income at a large asset-management firm and in risk-management at two Canadian banks.
