Bethany Courson

 Bethany Courson is an assistant professor in the School of Accountancy at the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business, where she teaches Auditing Theory and Practice I. Prior to joining the college, Courson spent two years as an assistant professor in the Patterson School of Accountancy at the University of Mississippi, where she taught intermediate financial accounting. She also has over 10 years of practitioner experience in external and internal auditing.

Courson’s research examines the effect of auditing on the decisions of managers, investors and other stakeholders in the public and private sectors. She received the Outstanding Dissertation Award from the AAA Governmental and Nonprofit Section in 2023 and the Outstanding Dissertation Award from the AAA Auditing Section in 2024.
