Students from the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business can often be found in leadership roles across campus. This summer is no exception with six business majors and four business minors serving as Summer Welcome Leaders.

Let’s meet these student leaders who will be introducing incoming Mizzou students and their families to campus this summer.

If I could do anything with my life, I would…

I would choose to be a famous music star and tour around the world.

My favorite Mizzou tradition:

Running through the Columns as a class. I think that for me it was nice to be around an entire group of people who were experiencing the same feelings and events that I was also enduring. It made me feel more connected to my classmates and helped me realize we are all going through the same thing at that moment.

If I could do anything with my life, I would:

Travel the world. I would visit as many countries as possible, try new foods, meet new people, and learn more about different cultures.

My favorite Mizzou memory:

My favorite memory from Mizzou so far is probably Homecoming week. The energy on campus leading up to and for the extent of that week is so fun. There are so many activities and ways to get involved and the football game environment at the end is insane

My favorite spot on campus:

My favorite spot on campus is Memorial Union! My best friend and I have made it our own tradition to go there a few times a week since freshman year and we always had so much fun studying/hanging out there!

One of my favorite Mizzou memories:

My favorite memory from my time at Mizzou was standing on the football field during the Homecoming game with the 2023 Homecoming Steering Committee. It was so surreal to see all the hard work we had done for 8 months pay off. I remember looking around at all of my new best friends and feeling so appreciative of Mizzou!

My favorite Mizzou tradition:

The Homecoming Parade! There’s something so special about seeing not just the entire Mizzou community, but also the city of Columbia, converge to celebrate our school. I’m always amazed by how creative and professional-looking the floats are, and it was an absolute blast to have the chance to walk in it for the first time this past year.

What I’m most excited for at Summer Welcome:

I’m excited to meet the incoming freshmen! I remember going to Summer Welcome and it completely easing my nerves about going to college and meeting new people/living in a new place. My Summer Welcome leaders helped to make me feel so confident about my new phase of life, so I absolutely love the idea of getting to pay it forward.

If I could do anything with my life, I would…

Go play for the NFL, but that obviously won’t happen.

My favorite Mizzou tradition:

First Roar during Welcome Week. The whole experience from walking as a large crowd, learning chants, and taking a picture on Faurot Field was a memory I won’t forget.

My favorite spot on campus:

My favorite spot on campus has to be between the Rec and Memorial Union. I love all the different activities that the Rec provides; it is a big way that I relieve stress. Memorial Union is an incredibly-designed building that fosters so much history of Mizzou. I can always count on seeing someone in Memorial and saying hi!

A song that describes my life:

I would say one song that describes my life/self is “My Life” by Mary J. Blige. It talks about being at peace with life and accepting your feelings and that sunshine will come!
