Trulaske marketing department celebrates Professor Detelina Marinova’s research achievements

Marketing professor Detelina Marinova is on an impressive streak of recent research and leadership achievements. In addition to pursuing her own research projects, Detelina is taking on new editorial leadership positions at two prestigious publications.

Detelina collaborated with PhD student Bitty Balducci on a paper called “Unstructured Data in Marketing”, which was accepted by the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and will be published in the coming months. Another of her scholarly papers where she is the lead author appeared in the February 2018 issue of the top-tier Journal of Marketing Research (JMR). Also, her role on the Editorial Board of JMR was elevated to Associate Editor, and she will also soon join the Editorial Review Board for the Journal of Marketing — high honors at two premier marketing publications.

“Detelina is an exceptional researcher and analytical thinker,” Marketing Department Chair Murali Mantrala said. “She investigates questions that push the university and the marketing field forward, and we’re so fortunate to have her on our team. Her recent successes bring us the utmost pride. ”

Detelina’s research interests include managing organizational frontlines and sales and service, technology-enabled interactions, analysis of unstructured data, machine learning and healthcare marketing. Throughout her academic career, her research has been funded by a variety of notable sources, such as the National Institutes of Health and the Marketing Science Institute. In addition to investigating important research questions, Detelina is a talented, popular and award-winning instructor of graduate courses in marketing management and analytics and a huge asset to the MBA and PhD programs at the Trulaske College of Business.
