School of Accountancy recognized as one of best in nation for research output

The Trulaske College of Business’s School of Accountancy continues to be ranked as one of the best programs in the country for research output.

In the preliminary 2015 BYU accounting research rankings for named topics and named methods, the University of Missouri was ranked 13th for overall breadth of research in the past six years, 14th for all publications in the past 6 years, and 18th for overall breadth of research for publications by all Missouri PhD graduates in a three-year post-graduation window.

Additionally, Missouri was ranked 5th for audit, 2nd for audit archival, 27th for financial archival and 13th for tax archival research.

The School of Accountancy has been ranked repeatedly as a leading program in the country for research productivity, faculty quality and CPA exam pass rates, attesting to the program’s breadth of excellence. In the 2015 Public Accounting Report Annual Professors Survey, the School of Accountancy was ranked 17th for Undergraduate programs and Master’s programs. When adjusted for faculty size, the school was ranked 5th for Undergraduate programs and 6th for Master’s programs. Additionally, the Doctoral Program is ranked 22nd.

Undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Accountancy complete a 150-hour program, earning both a bachelor of science and master of accountancy at graduation. The PhD program trains and prepares students for an academic career at institutions having both teaching and research missions.
