Since 2004, the Value Investing Congress located in New York City has been advancing the study of investing. The Congress began inviting talented young investors to their annual conference in order to promote the learning and study of investing. The Congress created the Benjamin Graham Fellowship as a way to ensure that students who were the most deserving were able to attend the conference. The Congress selects only the top applicants each year for the highly competitive fellowships.

Recently, the Congress announced the recipients of this year’s Ben Graham Fellowship. One of the recipients is Trulaske College of Business student Jonathon Clements.

Clements is currently a senior studying finance and real estate. He is a member of the Cornell Leadership Program, Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, University of Missouri Investment Group, and the Allen Angel Capital Education Program. He also attended Tigers on Wall Street in 2012, which led him to establish New York Mizzou Connect (NYMC), a group that aims to enhance existing alumni connections in New York in order to prepare and mentor Mizzou students for a variety of finance positions. The goal of the group is to develop a sustainable platform that has the ability to place students in New York internships and full-time careers.

Fellowship honorees will get to mingle with buy-side professionals at the tenth annual Value Investing Congress in New York in early September. The fellows will get to hear from a number of well-known speakers in their field, including General Partner of Goldman Sachs & Co., Leon Cooperman, and Executive Editor of Citron Research, Andrew Left.
