Dean Balaji Rajagopalan has been appointed to serve a three-year term on an accreditation committee of an internationally recognized nonprofit organization that reviews business schools across the globe.

Balaji Rajagopalan, dean of the Trulaske College of Business, has been appointed to serve a three-year term on the Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC) of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), an internationally recognized nonprofit organization that independently reviews business schools across the globe. His term begins July 1.

“I am honored to be asked to serve on this esteemed committee that is ultimately responsible for applying accreditation standards consistently through the application process and ensuring equity of recommendations across the programs reviewed,” Rajagopalan said. “To be accredited by the AACSB is an asset to business schools and benefits students as well as businesses that employ graduates and society at large.”

AACSB accreditation is a voluntary, nongovernmental process that includes a rigorous external review of a school’s mission, faculty, qualifications, curriculum and ability to provide the highest quality of programming. The IAC is responsible for overseeing the acceptance of eligibility applications, approving schools’ initial self-evaluation reports, guiding institutions in the implementation of plans and overseeing processes for initial business accreditation.

The Trulaske College of Business was among the first business colleges to be accredited by the AACSB in 1926. Today, more than 1,000 institutions in more than 60 countries have earned AACSB accreditation.

Rajagopalan was named dean of the Trulaske College of Business in July 2023.
