Accountancy student team places second in Deloitte tax case competition

A team of Mizzou accountancy students participated in the regional Deloitte FanTAXtic Case Competition, held in Chicago November 7-8.

Mizzou has placed second overall in its regional competition. The team included sophomores Kevin Einig, Gunner Noble and Xin Zhang; junior Peter Hempstead; senior Sarah Wingbermuehle, and faculty advisor Tim Hurley. The teams Mizzou competed with include The Ohio State University, the University Iowa, the University Nebraska, Miami University of Ohio, Truman State University, and the University Cincinnati.

Deloitte awarded $200 scholarships to each of the students and $2,000 to the School of Accountancy in recognition of our team’s performance.
