This summer, 26 Trulaske College of Business students completed international internships with the MU International Trade Center. Students completed international market research projects for six Missouri businesses interested in exploring global market sales opportunities. Students were based in Shanghai, China, or Prague, Czech Republic. Research completed involved conducting in-market primary research, along with extensive analysis of secondary data. Key findings from the student research, along with next steps and recommendations were shared with company representatives during final presentations that took place in Cornell Hall on Aug. 11.

“The St. Louis Economic Development Partnership is enormously pleased with the global market research prepared by the MU International Trade center student interns,” said John Hixson, vice president of St. Louis-based Advanced Manufacturing, which had a team of interns based in Prague. “We consider this analysis and report to be of high professional quality, with sufficient specificity to enable businesses a sound start in their efforts to launch marketing efforts in Central Europe.

“It was a pleasure to be included in this program, and we extend our best wishes to the students, and to the faculty and advisors who made it such an impressive success.”
