ITC Interns Supporting the Decision-Making Needs of Area Businesses

Sixteen students from the University of Missouri’s Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. Trulaske College of Business recently shared the findings of a semester-long global market research project with four U.S. companies that were seeking to expand their sales internationally. 

The students, who were interning with Trulaske’s International Trade Center, completed extensive research to identify and evaluate international markets with sales potential for their clients, which included Link Electronics (based in Branson, Missouri), M.A. Associates (based in Overland Park, Kansas), Messner Bee Farm (based in Raytown, Missouri), and Salvajor (based in Kansas City). 

“The amount of time and effort that you put into this is outstanding,” Ted Grothe, director of sales at M.A. Associates, told the students. “Being here in person, I pay attention to some of the details and things, so just the format of the presentation is very nice and clean and well done. Clearly there was a lot of preparation.”

Matt Hohl, VP of business development at Salvajor Company, was also grateful for the research insights shared by the ITC interns.

“Extremely, extremely informative,” Hohl said. “Not only was it really impressive but it was very professionally done.”
