MU ITC Summer 2018 Intern

Mackenzie Murray

Not only did the internship meet my expectations, it exceeded them. The program offered an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to a real-world project.

During summer of 2018, I had the pleasure of interning with MU International Trade Center in Prague, Czech Republic. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience for me, not only as a college student, but also as a future business leader. I went into the internship wanting to strengthen my knowledge of data analytics and become more knowledge of market trends within the European Union.

Not only did the internship meet my expectations, it exceeded them. The program offered an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to a real-world project. My team members and I were able to complete international market research for a Missouri manufacturing company to identify global trade opportunities, and provide them with actionable information they can use to guide potential market entry or expansion decisions.

Being able to work with the incredible MU ITC staff and other team members abroad was an impeccable opportunity both professionally and personally. As a team member, I was able to develop my professional competencies in areas such as teamwork, communication skills, leadership, critical thinking and establishing relationships. It was an honor to work with the MU International Trade Center. They provided me with an extraordinary experience that I know will be an asset for my future professional endeavors.

Mackenzie is a senior studying marketing. She interned with Dacor Manufacturing.
