Sijie Yao

Sijie serves as the Assistant Director of Advising & Student Services at the Trulaske College of Business. She is originally joined the college in October 2019 as an Academic Advisor and was promoted to a Senior Academic Advisor in June 2021. Originally from Kunming, China, Sijie's passion for education led her to come to the United States as a high school exchange student in 2010. She is a two-time Mizzou graduate with her bachelor degree in Communication and her Master degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis (ELPA). ELPA has given her a solid foundation in the field of academic advising. During her time at Trulaske, Sijie has taken on the crucial responsibility of coordinating Summer Welcome advising for incoming undergraduate students. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has been recognized three times, as she has been nominated for the Excellence in Advising award. Sijie's dedication to guiding students toward success is unwavering, and she is excited to continue doing so in her role in the Graduate Program Office.

In her free time, she loves exploring new destinations, experimenting with cooking, indulging in crafting activities, and spending quality time with her adorable cat, Basil.
