Sijie Yao

Sijie Yao serves as the Director of the Paul and Lynn Ann Vogel Master of Accountancy and Integrated Program at the Trulaske College of Business. Since joining the college in 2019, Yao has progressed through several leadership roles, including Academic Advisor, Senior Academic Advisor, and Assistant Director of Advising and Student Services. Her journey reflects a deep commitment to enhancing student experiences and fostering academic success.

A two-time graduate of the University of Missouri, Yao holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Film Studies and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis. This solid academic foundation has equipped her with the skills and vision to lead complex advising initiatives and support students on their academic and professional journeys.

In her current role, Yao oversees the Master of Accountancy and Integrated Program, advising graduate students and ensuring alignment with the program’s academic goals. Yao's dedication has earned her multiple nominations for the Excellence in Advising award, reflecting her unwavering commitment to student success.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Yao actively engages in professional development through national conferences such as NACADA and GBSSA. In her personal time, she enjoys exploring new destinations, experimenting in the kitchen, crafting, and spending quality time with her beloved cat, Basil.
