Shelly Zheng

Shelly Zheng is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Management at the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business at the University of Missouri. Her research interests include leadership, power and status, and human resource management (HRM) practices. Specifically, she is interested in exploring the interface between leadership and subordinates’ behaviors, understanding how organizational power dynamics affect team outcomes, and examining how HRM systems and policies influence firm-level outcomes. Before pursuing her Ph.D., Shelly gained professional experience working at ByteDance and served as a research assistant at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. These experiences fostered her strong interest in organizational research. Outside of research, she enjoys snowboarding, playing badminton, working out, and playing the bamboo flute.
