John Schaubroeck

Emma S. Hibbs/Harry Gunnison Brown Chair of Business and Economics; professor

John M. Schaubroeck is a professor and the Emma S. Hibbs/Harry Gunnison Brown Chair of Business and Economics in the Management Department. He teaches negotiation and other topics in organizational behavior and human resource management. His areas of expertise include psychological processes in leader-follower relationships, leadership development, negotiation, and employee stress and well-being. He has published over 75 refereed journal articles and several book chapters. Professor Schaubroeck served as both associate editor and editor-in-chief of Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and he currently sits on the editorial boards of Academy of Management JournalJournal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Personnel Psychology, Research in Human Resource Management, and Research in Occupational Stress and Well Being. He is a Senior Editor of Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies. Before joining MU in 2019, Professor Schaubroeck had served on the faculties of the University of Nebraska, City University of Hong Kong, Drexel University, and he is currently at Michigan State University. He received his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from Purdue University.
