Daniel Collins
Daniel Collins, CFA, is a Assistant Teaching Professor in the Finance Department at the University of Missouri’s Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business. Collins' teaching centers on advanced undergraduate courses such as Investments and Portfolio Management, where he draws on his extensive background in asset management, portfolio construction, and risk analysis. Collins has more than 30 years institutional investment management experience that includes senior leadership roles at Reinsurance Group of America, ING Investment Management, and Lincoln Investment Management, where he was responsible for investment strategy, asset-liability matching, and the oversight of global portfolios.
Known for his analytical rigor, collaborative approach, and commitment to student success, Collins is passionate about connecting classroom concepts to real-world financial challenges. He holds a Master of Science in Information Technology Management from Indiana University, an Executive MBA from Emory University, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University. Collins is a Chartered Financial Analyst and was a Certified Public Accountant, now lapsed.
After a distinguished career leading investment teams and managing multi-billion-dollar portfolios for major insurance companies, Collins now focuses on educating the next generation of finance professionals at Mizzou. Collins is excited to contribute to the Trulaske community, sharing practical insights and fostering a dynamic learning environment for students preparing to launch their careers in finance.
