Gary Coles

Gary Coles was an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Mizzou. He received a PhD in General-Experimental Psychology with a minor in quantitative methods from the University of North Dakota in 1970 and spent almost ten years working on large-scale federally-funded program evaluation/research projects, primarily in the area of public education. In 1981 Gary received an MBA in Marketing from MU and began his career in business. After graduation he worked for two years as the Marketing Research Manager for Business Incentives (BI), a sales incentive company located in Edina, MN. He then joined the DuPont Company's Corporate Marketing Research group in Wilmington, DE where he conducted marketing research projects for a variety of DuPont clients. From 1990 until his retirement in 2004, Gary worked as a database marketer for the Reader's Digest Association in Chappaqua, NY where he was responsible for segmentation, regression modeling, database marketing research, test design/analysis, name selection targeting for direct marketing promotions and mentoring of junior staff statisticians.
