Wall Street Summer Camp: Trulaske announces new camp for high school students
The Trulaske College of Business will host a new summer camp for rising high school juniors and seniors who are interested in finance.
A unique new program at the University of Missouri’s Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business will give rising high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to get a head start on their future.
The College of Business will host Trulaske Wall Street Summer Camp, a new summer camp designed to introduce campers to a career in finance, June 15-18. Campers will explore capital markets, investing and finance careers and learn how the Trulaske College of Business can serve as the first step in their future career paths.
Campers will get the full campus experience, including living in the residence halls, enjoying campus dining, and attending classes in Cornell Hall that are taught by Trulaske professors. Entertainment will include a movie night at the MU Student Center and a night of fun at MizzouRec.
High schoolers will also have an opportunity to participate in experience-centered learning, which is one of the pillars of success for Trulaske students.
“Campers will put together a mock portfolio and track performance, participate in a stock pitch competition, explore the Bloomberg Terminal and more,” said Timothy Howald, an assistant teaching professor and Trulaske Wall Street Summer Camp program director. “We want campers to leave not only with a deeper understanding of a career in finance, but also a sense of what it means to start their careers here at Trulaske.”
Camp registration for this overnight camp is $1,000 and includes room and board. Spots are limited to 35 campers. Applications must be received by March 13. Students who have been selected to participate in Trulaske Wall Street Summer Camp will be notified by April 3. Commuter options are available. Click here to register.
Trulaske is also accepting partners to participate in the new summer camp and give students a “real world” experience. Representatives from financial institutions such as banks, brokerages, investment managers and investment bankers are encouraged to email Tim Howald for more information.
Those who are interested in supporting the camp may also help fund scholarships and recommend possible camp counselors.
