The Management Department at the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business has placed 40th overall and 26th among public institutions in the United States in the latest TAMUGA Rankings for research productivity.

The TAMUGA Rankings – jointly tracked by Texas A&M University and the University of Georgia – measure per capita publications in the field’s top scholarly journals over the past five years, offering an objective benchmark of academic productivity rather than historical reputation and judgement.

“This achievement highlights the college’s commitment to advancing its research profile, marking significant progress toward our aspirational goal of being ranked among the top public college of business,” said Dean Balaji Rajagopalan

This ranking positions Mizzou just behind Wisconsin, Yale and Duke, and ahead of schools such as Colorado, Georgia Tech, Harvard and Columbia. Within the Plains region, the Department of Management at Trulaske holds the No. 3 spot among public institutions, surpassed only by Iowa and Minnesota.

Unlike traditional business school rankings that often rely on reputation and subjective assessments, the TAMUGA Rankings emphasize objective research outputs. While business schools are commonly known for their M.B.A. programs and as popular undergraduate destinations, faculty members at top institutions like Mizzou dedicate themselves to teaching, cutting-edge research and transformative technology.

“Faculty involved in active research stay engaged with ongoing developments in fields, such as cryptocurrency, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence and machine learning,” said Chris Robert, chair of the Management Department and Pinkney C. Walker Professor of Teaching Excellence. “This commitment ensures that Mizzou graduates are equipped with the latest insights and skills necessary to excel in today’s evolving business landscape.”
