Phi Beta Lambda chapter wins big at 2017 national conference

The University of Missouri chapter of Phi Beta Lambda received numerous individual and chapter awards at the organization’s 2017 National Leadership Conference, held June 24-28 in Anaheim, Calif.

Eleven members of Mizzou’s chapter attended this year’s conference. Five students earned Top 10 finishes across three categories:

• Rene Bosch - first place Statistical Analysis
• Isaac Suthoff - second place Management Analysis and Decision Making
• Rene Bosch & Leah Simpson - third place Emerging Business Issues
• Wenbin Zhou - ninth place Statistical Analysis

Additionally, Mizzou PBL president Leah Simpson was recognized as Who’s Who for Missouri and received the Career and Membership Achievement Program (CMAP) President Award.

The chapter received 11 awards, including:

• Tenth Place - Big Ten Chapter, which is measured by number of members on the national website. Mizzou PBL has 102 members.
• Most CMAP Submissions - North Central Region
• First Place - Largest Local Chapter of the North Central Region
• Super Sweeps (Must complete 10 tasks focused on recruitment and retention)
• Non-Stop November (Must complete five tasks focused on membership involvement.)
• Action Awareness (Must complete four tasks focused on PBL awareness.)
• Diamond Chapter (10 activities including Chapter Challenge and increasing membership over last year's numbers.)
• Connect Ten (Increased membership by 10 members over last year's numbers.)
• Outstanding Chapter (Chapters must complete 12 membership, community service, and education activities.)
• Chapter Challenge (Completed Super Sweeps, Non-Stop November, Action Awareness.)
• Gold Seal Award of Merit (Recognizes the top 15 percent of chapters.)
