The University of Missouri’s Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business has launched a new MBA in Analytics. Applications are now open for the new program, which is designed to serve emerging data-driven leaders.
To keep pace with the growing demand for leaders who can interpret data, drive business innovation and leverage technology, the University of Missouri’s Robert J. “This achievement embodies our collective commitment to anticipating and addressing the evolving needs of industry while empowering our students with the tools and insights necessary to thrive in an increasingly complex business landscape,” said Balaji Rajagopalan, Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. Dean of the Trulaske College of Business.
Trulaske is now accepting applications for the fall semester. Interested candidates may also email the recruitment team for more information.
What is an MBA in Analytics?
The MBA in Analytics combines strong business acumen with advanced analytical skills for those seeking high-impact careers in a rapidly evolving workforce. Crafted for analytics leadership, the program is aimed at meeting the growing demand for professionals who can interpret complex data, integrate AI and emerging technologies, and translate insights into strategic business action.
“We are applying the knowledge of our leading-edge faculty, our network of partners and supporters, and our extensive experience in analytics instruction to offer this forward-thinking program,” said Marsha Richins, associate dean of graduate programs and research. “Students in the MBA in Analytics program will earn a specialized degree that’s designed to meet the demands of tomorrow’s workforce from one of the most trusted Midwestern leaders in business education.”
Students gain immediate immersion in analytics across the curriculum, building hands-on experience with AI, database management, machine learning, data visualization, and other key skills. Alongside this technical foundation, the program develops essential business capabilities, equipping graduates to align analytics, AI, and strategy to guide organizations forward.
“The MBA in Analytics bridges advanced business strategy with real-world data expertise, giving students the ability to interpret complex information and turn it into actionable insight,” said Kim Black, director of MBA and master’s programs at Trulaske. “While traditional MBA programs emphasize management and leadership, this program is designed to develop leaders who can leverage analytics and AI to make evidence-based decisions, solve high-impact challenges, and lead in data-driven environments. Students graduate with the ability to speak both the language of business and the language of analytics, a combination that employers consistently seek but rarely find.”
How Trulaske is redefining the MBA for the Analytics and AI Era
Unlike many MBA programs, which begin by introducing broader concepts and more general coursework, students in the MBA in Analytics program are immersed in analytics from day one, with AI and data-driven thinking integrated throughout the curriculum.
This intimate, STEM-oriented, in-person MBA program features a small cohort model to support high-impact learning. Students benefit from personalized mentorship, close collaboration with peers, applied projects guided by industry experts, and direct access to leading faculty. Students also participate in a summer internship, which helps to ensure that they graduate with established professional networks and real-world experiences.
“Students build a portfolio of applied projects, gain hands-on experience with the analytical tools shaping today’s organizations, and strengthen their leadership capabilities,” Black said. “Graduates position themselves for accelerated advancement and higher earning potential, making the program a strategic career investment that continues to pay dividends well into the future.”

An MBA for Emerging Data-Driven Leaders
The MBA in Analytics has been carefully crafted to prepare emerging data-driven leaders who want to advance or redirect their careers by combining rigorous STEM-based analytics training with business strategy and leadership development. It’s an ideal next step for individuals seeking accelerated growth, expanded responsibility, or a strategic pivot into analytics-focused leadership positions.
"As data's volume, variety and velocity accelerate, the data analytics skillset has never been more valuable,” said Jack Pelikan, academic director of the MBA in Analytics program and a member of the teaching faculty. “I'm honored to have the opportunity to help prepare current and future business leaders to unlock the power of data, analyses and technology to accomplish their professional goals."
While the MBA in Analytics is a new academic offering designed to keep up with an ever-evolving workforce, Trulaske’s commitment to instruction in analytics is well established. The institution is a proven leader in analytics instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
“As we prepare for our fall 2026 launch, I am confident that the MBA in Analytics will elevate our college's reputation and, more importantly, will equip a new generation of business leaders with the capabilities to navigate and shape the future of commerce in an AI-driven world,” Rajagopalan said.
