Fall 2024 MU ITC Graduate Spotlight – Olivia Sanders

Olivia interned with the International Trade Center during the Fall 2024 semester and graduated in December 2024 with her BSBA in Business with an emphasis in Management and a BA in International Studies with a minor in Mandarin Chinese. Olivia lead and an active and engaging college career, taking whatever opportunities she could to expand here cultural competency and global mindset. In addition to her degrees, she graduates with Certificates in Global Business and Multicultural Studies. She also studied abroad in Italy during the Summer of 2023 and then served as Trulaske Study Abroad Student Manager for the same program in 2024. We wish Olivia all the very best post-graduation and know that she will be a significant asset to any employer who has the opportunity to hire her!

Upon reflecting on the value of her internship with the International Trade Center, Olivia had this to share:

“My experience with the International Trade Center has been truly remarkable, and the value I have gained from this opportunity is immeasurable. During my time here, I have developed a strong understanding of import/export data analysis, market entry research, and strategic planning for entering new markets. I have also learned to utilize a variety of essential resources critical for analyzing and interpreting market data effectively.

One of the most significant skills I have gained is in data analytics. I not only learned how to gather and process data but also how to evaluate its importance and present key insights to clients and team members. This skill has been invaluable and has strengthened my confidence in working with complex market information.

I am especially grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such an exceptional team. We collaborated effectively, supported each other, and maintained a positive and enjoyable work environment. Based upon this experience I now have high expectations and standard for what teamwork can achieve, and I look forward to being part of many more such dynamic groups again in the future.

This experience has provided me with hands-on knowledge, access to powerful tools and resources, and a deeper appreciation for teamwork. I feel confident and excited as I prepare to enter the workforce, ready to apply the skills and insights I’ve gained. I will always be thankful for my time with the International Trade Center and the opportunities it has afforded me.”
