How do I track my Edge points progress?
Edge points are tracked in MU Engage, a smart phone application and website. You can access your account through MU Engage website or app.
I can't see Edge events in the MU Engage system. What should I do?
All University of Missouri students have access to MU Engage when logging in using SSO and their email address. Once a student is enrolled in the business school, they will get access to the Trulaske Edge group on MU Engage within 24 hours. If after 24 hours you still do not see the Trulaske Edge group, please reach out us by email or stop in the office at 304 Cornell Hall.
I think there is a problem with my record in MU Engage. What should I do?
Points for Edge events can take up to 24 hours to post after the event. Once points are posted, this is a complete and up-to-date documentation of all of the Edge attendance we are aware of for each student. If you suspect there is an issue with your record, please send us an email with a detailed description of the issue, including the name of the event, date, and time in question. Students are always welcome to confirm their check-in status with the person managing event check-ins. We encourage students to check their Suitable MU Engage account regularly and to manage any disputes in a timely manner.
Do students need to earn the full 100 points before applying to the upper level?
No. Students don’t need to complete all of the requirements before they APPLY for upper level, only by the end of the semester in which they apply. This means that you still need to meet the application deadline to fill out the application paperwork and may use the entire semester to finish any requirements.
I have other obligations, how am I supposed to meet Edge requirements?
The Trulaske Edge program is a graduation requirement, and the idea is that students weigh their professional development activities much like their coursework. That being said, workshops for the program are planned out specifically so that students who plan ahead can manage Edge sessions along with other obligations. Workshops are scheduled both in-person and online on different days of the week varying between morning, afternoon, and evening times over the course of the semester. The full semester calendar of Edge events/workshops is available at the beginning of each semester so that students can plan ahead.
I’m finished with academic requirements, but still need to attend an Edge workshop. What is the process?
If you still need to attend an Edge workshop and are not currently enrolled in coursework, you must contact your academic advisor to determine what other requirements and/or processes, if any, are needed to graduate. There is no fee specifically associated with returning in order to complete Edge workshop requirements. Students in this situation are still subject to first-come, first-in for the room capacity. Please arrive early and/or choose an event that accepts registration in order to assure you will be able to complete the workshop at the date and time you are on campus.
Do I have to make a reservation for an in-person event?
No. Students are encouraged to make a reservation because in-person events do occasionally reach capacity. Making a reservation is the best way to avoid missing an event you wanted to attend.
Here’s how it works: If there is any doubt that the room will be over capacity on the day of the event, only students with a reservation will be admitted up until the published start time of the event. After that time, students waiting in line for a possible walk-in spot will be admitted on a FIRST COME, FIRST IN BASIS up to the capacity of the room.
NOTE: Students must be physically present in the line in order to be considered in the queue; place marking with a backpack, coat or other belonging without you there OR having a proxy stand in line for you is not permitted and students who attempt to do so will be required to move to the end of the line.
NOTE: A number of events for Edge points are actually hosted by another department/organization on campus (and they have requested the event to be an official Edge experience). In these circumstances, the reservation system is run by the host organization and will likely be different.
Can I register to as many events as I want?
Yes! If you end up being unable to attend, we ask that you cancel your registration in MU Engage as quickly as you can so your seat can open up to other students. However, The Trulaske Edge office reserves the right to cancel reservations by any student that is abusing the reservation system. Examples of reservation system abuse include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Pervasive and systematic reservations beyond what is reasonable for the particular student in question
- A pattern of no-shows at events that have been reserved
- Any attempt to transfer reservations or profit from reservations made (see Academic Integrity Warning in the question above)
Is there a penalty if I register for an event and then do not show up?
This is called a “no-show" Students who demonstrate a pattern of no-shows may lose the privilege of registering for events. *The no-show policy will be applied if students do not cancel at least 24 hours prior to the event.
How do online Edge experiences work?
Online Edge events are posted in the same area of MU Engage as in-person events and are denoted as an online location. After registration, a meeting link is available on the event page for students to join at the time of the event.
On-Demand events are available during the semester and can be found by going to MU Engage > Member Success > Tracks & Checklist. These events are posted for the duration of the semester and can be completed at any point during this time. On-demand events require either the submission of a passing quiz score or thoughtful reflection to earn points as there is no real-time check-in process.
I see multiple events I want to attend. Can I register for more than one event at a time?
Yes. Registration typically opens up two weeks prior to the event date and each event requires a separate registration. Be sure to click on each event individually to access the registration for that particular event.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
You may contact the Trulaske Edge at Cornell Hall 304 or via email
Can I transfer my registration if I decide I don’t want to do the online Edge?
No. Reservations are non-transferrable, but we do ask that you cancel your registration as soon as you know you won't' be able to attend in order to open slots for other students to join.
What happens if I ask for help from someone who has done this Edge event before?
ACADEMIC INTEGRITY WARNING: Any attempt to circumvent the Edge reservation system, secure a reservation for any reason outside of your own personal attendance for this event, or not complete the work yourself can be considered a violation of Academic Integrity, and is subject to consequences therein.
