Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe recently appointed Kathryn "Elise" Bartley, CPA, to the Missouri State Board of Accountancy.
Bartley is an associate teaching professor in the School of Accountancy at the University of Missouri’s Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business, as well as the Forvis Mazars Teaching Scholar. Bartley earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in accountancy and her Doctor of Education in Leadership and Policy Analysis from Mizzou.
“As a lifelong Missourian, I’m honored to serve on the State Board of Accountancy and to support its mission of protecting the public across our state,” Bartley said. “This role is an opportunity to give back to the state that has given me so much while helping uphold the standards that ensure trust and accountability in the accounting profession.”
Before joining the Trulaske faculty in 2017, Bartley began her career as an accountant with EY in Kansas City, serving audit clients that included companies such as TD Ameritrade, Dairy Farmers of America, O'Reilly Auto Parts, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System.
Professor Bartley has taught a broad range of accounting classes. She enjoys collaborating in her work, and has published with colleagues from physics, exercise science, history and science education on methods of effective teaching across the disciplines.
The Missouri State Board of Accountancy is charged with protecting the interests of the citizens of the State of Missouri by examining, certifying, licensing and regulating certified public accountants and public accountants, and firms of certified public accountants and public accountants in the State of Missouri.
