On May 1, 2026, sixteen University of Missouri Trulaske College of Business students interning with the International Trade Center (ITC) presented semester-long global market research projects to three U.S. companies pursuing international expansion. The ITC provides high-quality trade research and analysis to companies while delivering hands-on learning in global business.
Over the semester, student teams conducted customized research to help clients evaluate and prioritize high-potential global markets. Using leading databases and structured methodologies, they assessed market demand, competition, regulatory environments, and entry strategies to inform data-driven expansion decisions.
Participating companies included 1879 Distilling Company (St. Louis, MO), BioSpan Technologies (Washington, MO), and Paul Mueller Company (Springfield, MO). Each received actionable insights to support export planning, reduce risk, and identify new growth opportunities, services typically costly but delivered through the ITC’s applied learning model.
The experience also equips students with practical skills in global research, data analysis, and client engagement while exposing them to real-world international business challenges.
