Digital Strike Returns as TruWelcome Corporate Partner for Second Year
COLUMBIA, Mo. — August 2026 — The Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business at the University of Missouri is pleased to welcome back Digital Strike, Targeted Marketing as the corporate partner for TruWelcome, marking the second consecutive year the company has helped Trulaske kick off the academic year.
TruWelcome brings students together in Cornell Hall to celebrate the start of a new semester and introduce them to the people, programs and opportunities that will shape their experience at Trulaske. With Digital Strike returning as a partner, the event also highlights the important role that businesses and alumni play in creating meaningful experiences for students.
Led by Mizzou alumnus Chris Westmeyer and Sheila Westmeyer, Digital Strike first partnered with Trulaske for TruWelcome in 2025. The company helped the college welcome more than 1,500 students back to campus, bringing additional energy to the celebration with T-shirts, popcorn, Tiger Stripe ice cream and plenty of Mizzou spirit.
Digital Strike's connection to Mizzou extends throughout the company. Of its 30 employees, nine got their start at Mizzou, creating a strong alumni presence within the organization and a natural connection between the company and the university.
This year, Digital Strike is back to help Trulaske do it again.
Digital Strike’s continued partnership reflects a shared commitment to connecting education and industry while supporting the next generation of business leaders. For students, TruWelcome offers an early opportunity to see that the Trulaske community extends well beyond Cornell Hall to include alumni, employers and corporate partners who are invested in their development.
“Having Digital Strike return for a second year makes this partnership especially meaningful,” said Ryan Murray, director of employer and external relations at Trulaske. “Chris and Sheila have embraced what TruWelcome is all about. With so many Mizzou alumni on their team, there is a genuine connection to our students and our university. They want students to feel connected to Trulaske, excited about the year ahead and proud to be part of Mizzou. Their continued involvement demonstrates the kind of long-term relationship we want to build with our corporate partners.”
For Digital Strike, TruWelcome is just the beginning of its involvement with Trulaske students during the 2026-2027 academic year. The company will lead EDGE events, providing students with opportunities to learn directly from industry professionals and build skills that complement their classroom experience. Digital Strike will also partner with the Trulaske Department of Marketing on the Digital Marketing Competition, giving students an opportunity to apply what they are learning to a hands-on marketing challenge.
Together, these activities deepen Digital Strike’s connection with the college and create additional opportunities for students to engage with professionals throughout the academic year.
“Last year’s TruWelcome was such a great experience for our team,” said Chris Westmeyer. “There is something special about seeing the excitement students bring to the beginning of a new year. As a Mizzou alum, I’m proud to have the opportunity to give back and stay connected to the university. With so many Tigers on our team at Digital Strike, that connection to Mizzou is something we share as a company. We’re excited to be back for another year to celebrate these students and support the Trulaske community.”
TruWelcome serves as an introduction to life at Trulaske, giving students opportunities to connect with faculty, staff and fellow students while learning about the resources and experiences available throughout the college. The event reflects Trulaske’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment while preparing students for success in the classroom and beyond.
Digital Strike’s expanded involvement throughout the year reflects the type of partnership Trulaske seeks to build with the business community: relationships that go beyond a single event and create meaningful opportunities for students. From welcoming students at TruWelcome to leading EDGE programming and supporting the Digital Marketing Competition, Digital Strike will have multiple opportunities to share its expertise and connect with students as they prepare for their careers.
“TruWelcome may be where we start the year, but the relationships behind it continue long after the event ends,” Murray said. “We appreciate partners who want to be part of the student experience throughout the year, and we are excited to continue building that relationship with Digital Strike.”
With another academic year beginning, TruWelcome once again gives the Trulaske community a reason to celebrate and, with Digital Strike returning for year two, a familiar partner will be there to help welcome students home to Mizzou and remain engaged throughout the year.
