Yongxin (David) Gao is a PhD Candidate in Marketing at the Trulaske College of Business. His research examines marketing strategies at the marketing–entrepreneurship interface, with a focus on social media, consumer wellbeing, and marketing-relevant public policies. His interests include influencer and digital marketing, multimodal data analytics, consumer-to-consumer dynamics, foods and addictive substances, and sustainability marketing. He earned his master’s degree from the University of Leeds in the UK. Previously, he taught International Business and Global Marketing at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and worked as a marketing analyst for a Paris-based global research firm serving FMCG clients. He also co-founded a family business producing flavors and fragrances for FMCG manufacturers. He has been to 33 countries and likes hiking, tennis, and paludariums.
