Experiential Learning

Internships provide professional work experience at a company or organization during the summer or other appropriate time prior to graduation. Internships offer many advantages for both student and employer. It helps a company identify and assess a potential candidate for employment suitability before a permanent offer is made, and students greatly benefit from the “hands-on” work experience and professional interactions these opportunities provide.

Alumni Mentor Program

The Alumni Mentor Program is designed to bring together those with knowledge and experience (mentors) and those who are developing their careers (students). The program is about sharing information and knowledge with others. Each mentoring relationship is unique and must be based on mutual trust and respect. The relationship can be as structured as you desire. You decide how and when to communicate and what works best for your relationship.

Case Competition

The office of Business Career Services, in conjunction with a corporate sponsor, holds a case competition each year at the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business on the University of Missouri campus. The Sales Competition represents yet another example of Mizzou’s commitment to delivering business students with a competitive advantage as they enter the workforce. The competition is designed for students who want a glimpse into the challenges executives face in the professional world each day and the solution selling skills any young professional will need to influence an audience.
