Alumni Happy Hours
Network with Crosby MBA alumni in Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago and Columbia at these events, held annually. These events are a great way to build contacts and discover potential employment opportunities.
Each semester employers interview business students on campus in the Business Career Service’s private interview and technology suites.
Employers are invited to campus to informally chat with students on a one-on-one basis. Employers spend approximately 15 minutes providing feedback to each student.
Employers are invited to host information sessions on campus to speak to students about company culture and internship and full-time job opportunities.
MBA Networking Reception
The evening before the fall career fair, employers join MBA students for a professional networking event. You will have the opportunity to practice your networking skills and build relationships with key individuals within organizations who hire Crosby MBAs.
Mock Interview Days
Each semester employers conduct on campus, phone, and/or Skype mock interviews. Interviews are 30 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of detailed feedback. In additional, a written evaluation is shared with both the student and career counselors.
Orientation - Business Career Services (BCS) Boot Camp
Join the Business Career Services staff to kick off your MBA career development during this set of dynamic and fun workshop sessions. Career events will begin just a few weeks after classes begin, and you will need to be ready. Come ready to develop your individualized career plan, write your elevator speech, engage in networking with faculty, staff and alumni, and learn how to successfully complete your resume and conduct an interview.
In order to be ready, you will receive pre-work to be completed prior to Orientation. This work includes Career Leader and Strengths Quest assessments, and a template for completing your Crosby MBA resume.
Orientation - Alumni Luncheon
Following BCS Boot Camp, alumni of the Crosby MBA Program will join new students for a luncheon.
Panel discussions expose students to experts in a variety of industries and functions. Functions areas include analytics, management, marketing, sales, and finance & banking.
Salary Negotiations by Don Asher
This interactive workshop with Donald Asher, a nationally known writer and speaker on careers and higher education, highlights how to successfully negotiate salary, as well as tap into the hidden job market.
Trulaske College of Business Career Fair
Each year, Mizzou’s Trulaske College of Business hosts annual fall and spring Career Fairs for students seeking full-time and internship opportunities. Typically more than 130 employers attend and actively recruit Trulaske College of Business students.
Professional development workshops take place each semester for MBA students. Facilitation by employers is encouraged. Workshop topics include: perfecting resumes and cover letters, BCS resources, managing online profiles, navigating case interviews, and the art of negotiations.
