Shannon Ferguson joined the University of Missouri as the Assistant Director of the 150-hour and Masters in Accountancy programs and is assisting with various strategic plans to further the objectives of our nationally ranked accountancy program. In this role, she advises students in the program as they complete coursework and pursue a career within the field of accounting. Shannon coordinates directly with firms and corporations in order to increase internship opportunities for current students and full-time placement rates for the graduates of the program. Additionally, she will assist with the coordination of the school’s study abroad program which takes place during the winter intersession for accountancy graduate-level students. The program will travel to London, England in January 2016 and students will visit public accounting firms, international corporations and a regulatory agency. During the 2015-2016 academic year, Shannon will also teach the Intro to Accounting for non-business majors and co-facilitate International Accounting in conjunction with the study abroad program discussed above.
Shannon is a graduate of the 150-hour Accountancy program at the University of Missouri and thus holds both a Master’s and Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy. Since graduation and prior to returning to the University of Missouri, Shannon worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP within their assurance practice in the St. Louis office and thus has extensive experience in public accounting. Shannon holds a CPA license in the State of Missouri and is a member of the Missouri Society of CPAs (MSCPA) and American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
