Fred Travis is Director of the Risk Management and Insurance program and an assistant teaching professor of Finance at Trulaske College of Business.
In 1980, Fred joined Anheuser-Busch in the Planning department and served in various analyst and management positions. Fred joined the Corporate Treasurer’s Office in 1989 as Manager of Capital Planning, where he oversaw $1 billion of annual capital projects. From there he was named Director, Corporate Safety and Risk Management and spent 14 years developing new approaches to employee safety and directing worldwide risk management and insurance programs. During his tenure, worker injury rates declined by more than 80%; and insurance premiums and self-insured losses went from $120 million to under $50 million; while sales and production rose by more than 30%.
Since 2005, Fred has been owner and Principal at Risk Management Consulting, LLC where he has provided risk management and insurance consulting for a wide variety of Fortune 500, private, government and non-profit clients.
Fred has been a frequent speaker on various risk management, insurance and enterprise risk management topics at industry conferences and seminars, and has contributed a number of articles and papers to various trade and industry publications.
