On January 1, 2017, Ajay Vinzé joined the University of Missouri as Dean of the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business.

Dr. Vinzé comes to Mizzou after nearly 20 years in elevating academic and administrative roles at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Most recently, he served as the Earl and Gladys Davis Distinguished Professor and associate dean of international programs, as well as the associate vice provost for graduate education at ASU. In these administrative roles, Dr. Vinzé represented senior leadership for international initiatives and partnerships for the institution.

Additionally, at ASU, Dr. Vinzé was the founder and inaugural director of the Center for Advancing Business through Information Technology (CABIT), an industry-facing research center, director for the Executive MBA program, and director of the PhD program in Information Systems at the W. P. Carey School of Business. 

Dr. Vinzé is a Fulbright Senior Specialist and maintains an active international agenda. He has taught extensively in the U.S. and internationally and is listed as a visiting professor with universities in Asia, Europe and South America.  

Prior to joining ASU, Dr. Vinzé served on the faculty at the Mays Graduate School of Business at Texas A&M University. He earned a PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona, Tucson, in 1988. 

Research Interests

Dr. Vinzé’s research is recognized for technology innovation and organizational relevance, including data analytics, emergency preparedness and response, disruptive innovation, economic value of ICT investments, and collaborative computing. His research typically leverages a collaboration with public and private sector organizations.

Dr. Vinzé’s publications have appeared in leading scholarly journals including Information Systems ResearchMIS QuarterlyDecision SciencesDecision Support SystemsHealth Affairs and various IEEE and ACM Transactions. In 2012, his research contributions were recognized at Arizona State University with a Faculty Excellence Award.

In May 2016, based on a model developed by Dr. Vinzé, MasterCard Foundation awarded ASU $21.9 million. This inter-disciplinary six-year grant focuses on promoting tertiary education in sub-Saharan Africa.

Over the past three decades, Dr. Vinzé has worked with a variety of organizations in the U.S., including the Arizona Government IT Agency, Arizona Department of Health Services, U.S. Army ISEC, Avnet, CHW, Cisco, IBM and Intel. Before joining academics, he was a business technology consultant based out of the Philippines.
