During the Fall 2017 semester, Crosby MBA students in J. Scott Christianson’s Management Information Systems class worked in teams to research and write white-papers about emerging technologies and the effects they will have on business. Topics included self-driving trucks, robotic process automation, Hyperloop, “just walk out” retail and vertical farming.
Students were required to submit their work to an academic writing contest sponsored by Technology Evaluation Centers (TEC), an impartial software analysis firm. Two of the Mizzou teams won awards, which include a cash prize, and will have their white papers featured on TEC's website.
Drew Forster, Andrea Boone, Andre de Castro Deus and Nikita Gahr researched and wrote about Self Driving Trucks. Their paper won third place and the team will share a $500 prize.
Alexander Starkey, Danni Bian, Natarajan Mahalingam and Josh Smith researched and wrote about “just walk out” retail. Their paper won second place and the team will share a $1,000 prize.
