Tim Waid is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Management Department at the Robert J. Trulaske Sr. College of Business, University of Missouri - Columbia. Tim teaches Principles of Management, Crisis Management, and International Management. He held prior teaching positions at Columbia College and Williams Woods University as a visiting or adjunct professor. 

His research explores the effects of professional job training programs on individuals job satisfaction, career satisfaction, job performance evaluation, salary adjustment, job promotion, and professional certification pursuits. The Life-Career trajectory of professionals in mid-to late life is examined. He has partnered with Missouri Enterprise Business Assistance Center at Missouri University of Science & Technology in a $2.1M grant from the U. S. Department of Labor for the H1-B Technical Skills Training Grant Program in Advanced Manufacturing (2004 to 2007). Timothy Waid Consulting, LLC, provided Business Leadership coursework and project mentoring to 300 manufacturing professionals in Missouri for the certificate program in Advanced Manufacturing Specialist Training (AMST). He also holds an extensive record of campus presentations and service outreach for the Mizzou community and across Missouri.

Tim's experience in industry includes:

  • Contracts Estimator for the McDonnell Douglas Corporation in St. Louis (1985-1987)
  • Assistant Manager of Les Bourgeois Winery in Rocheport, Missouri (1988-1990)
  • Manufacturing Systems Engineer for the Hubbell Corporation (1991-1994)
  • Inventory Control Manager for Scholastic, Inc., in Jefferson City (1995-1998)
  • Distribution Manager for Orscheln Farm and Home in Moberly, Missouri, (1998-1999)
  • Owner of Timothy Waid Properties, LLC and Timothy Waid Consulting

A lifelong Tiger, Tim attended University of Missouri's (K-12) Laboratory School in Townsend Hall in 1967-1972 for K-4th grade, and defended his doctoral dissertation in same building in 2006. His family once owned the property where Cornell Hall now stands, and he attended Tiger basketball games in the 1960s when they were played in the Brewer Field House in the Student Recreation Center.
