Mary Cowx is an assistant professor in the School of Accountancy. She teaches introductory taxation classes, and her research focuses on tax policy effectiveness and the effects of accounting and tax rules on managerial decision-making.  Before joining the faculty at the University of Missouri in 2021, Cowx worked in tax for ten years and served as tax manager at KPMG and the Hearst Corporation. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Ohio.
