Asia Program Research Interns 2018

Samuel Belete

Major: Finance
Year in School: Junior
Graduation: May 2020

Samuel is a sophomore finance and banking student at the University of Missouri. He is interested in foreign culture and is the Outreach Chair for Trulaske College of Business' Diversity Student Association. Samuel is excited about the opportunity that this internship will provide him to engage first-hand, in global analytics and management activities. Samuel plans on working in investment banking after college.

Amit Bhagat

Major: Management

Graduation: May 2019

Amit is a junior seeking a degree in business management with an emphasis in entrepreneurship. While he has travelled extensively, he is excited to be studying abroad and participating in the internship program in China and Vietnam this summer. He hopes to gain experience that will help him develop a better understanding of the global market place – insight that he can use in his professional career upon graduating.

Ryan Connors

As an aspiring Investment Analyst, Ryan finds pleasure in learning the outcomes of different investment opportunities and the risk and reward associated with them. While interning abroad, he hopes to learn more about international markets and bring home business knowledge that can benefit him in his future career.

Brendan is a junior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in finance with an emphasis in real estate. Upon graduation, he would like to pursue work overseas and get involved with international trade.

Alexander Hahn

Alexander is a sophomore currently pursuing a degree in finance and banking. He is excited about the opportunity to intern abroad this summer in China and Vietnam. His interest in working abroad stems from having visited over 12 different countries. After graduating, Alexander wants to pursue a career in the field of investment consulting.

Rebecca Hayes

Graduation: May 2019

Rebecca interned at PricewaterhouseCoopers upon the completion of her Bachelor’s in accounting, and before returning to university to pursue her Master’s in Business Administration. She has a passion for international business and has made it the focus of her MBA. With this internship, she expects to gain more international business experience and a better understanding of Asian cultures.

Davis Hurth

Graduation: May 2019

Davis is currently a senior is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in business administration with an emphasis in management, and a minor in leadership and public service. Looking to the future, Davis desires to work internationally, to support the market research and economic development activities of impoverished nations.

Maxim Mandel

Graduation: May 2019

Maxim is a junior political science student, with a minor in business. Maxim hopes to gain international business experience this summer. Post-graduation he hopes to join the consulting world where his talents solving problems and functioning in uncomfortable environments have the opportunity to shine.

Andrew Pogue

Andrew is very excited to learn about the Chinese and Vietnamese cultures this summer, and to gain insight into how to analyse foreign markets. Being a cadet in the University of Missouri Army ROTC Battalion, he plans to serve as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army upon graduation.

Trey Storey

Graduation: December 2019

Trey was born and raised in Independence, Missouri. He is very interested in financial advising as a future career and is to obtain real-world experiences that supplement classroom learning. He is eager to study abroad in China where he can experience a completely new culture. He also looks forward to interning in Asia so that he can develop international trade skills as well as international work experience.

Jay Waldron

Jay is an international business student from Chicago, Illinois, who is seeking a well-rounded education on trade and commerce in East Asia. From his education emphases in Mandarin Chinese and Finance, Jay hopes to pursue a career in international trade and eventually diplomacy.

Justin Wild

Justin is an International business major at the University of Missouri, with a keen interest in entrepreneurship. Justin has successfully started and operated a DJ business in the past. Justin hopes that the research, analytics, consulting and management experience he secures while interning with the MU International Trade Center, will prove valuable in supporting this business ownership goals for the future.

Asia Program Student Managers 2018

Danni Bian

Major: MBA
Graduation: May 2018

Originally from China, Danni has lived in the United States for six years. Dani will graduate with her MBA in May, 2018. Currently, she is a communication and social media graduate assistant in the University of Missouri International Admissions Office, and a student manager for the MU College of Business China study abroad program. She enjoys working with different students to foster community engagement and student involvement.

Mitchell Henning

Major: Finance, International Studies
Year in School: Senior
Graduation: May 2019

Mitchell is a senior working toward a Bachelor of Science in business administration with an emphasis in finance, and a Bachelor of Arts in international studies with an emphasis in Chinese. Mitchell is from St. Louis. He has travelled to China three times in the past in association with foreign exchange and study abroad programs. He wants to help more students to go abroad to enhance their understanding of the global marketplace.

Alex Balzer

Alex enjoys travelling and immersing himself in different cultures. He hopes that this internship will provide him with valuable experience and skills, that he can leverage in his career post-graduation. He aspires to work for a company that has global connections and employment opportunities.

Barry Thierno

Graduation: May 2019

Thierno is a rising senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance and banking.He is bilingual in English and French. Through this internship, he hopes to make connections, learning new skills in market research and data analysis, an use those skills to better position himself for future employment.

Mason Blackford

Mason is a rising senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in economics, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. Upon graduation, Mason plans to attend graduate school to expand his business studies, before seeking full-time employment in the financial industry. Through this internship, Mason hopes to better understand business from a European perspective, and to gain professional experience in market research.

Nicole Bloodgood

Nicole is a sophomore pursuing a dual major in international business with an emphasis in management and French. She plans to pursue post-graduate studies to secure an MBA in management and MA in international studies. Her main goal following completion of this internship is to have an enhanced understanding the dynamics of trade that exists between the United States and markets in Europe.

Nicholas Cohn

Nicholas is from the southern suburbs of Chicago, IL. In addition to his studies at the University of Missouri, Nicholas and a friend currently operate a successful video company. Nicholas excels in solving complex problems and being innovative. A quote that he lives by is, “No problem has solely one solution.” Nicholas looks forward the new knowledge and experiences this international internship will provide him.

Madeline Drone

Graduation: May 2020

Madeline is a sophomore from Dallas, Texas, studying international business with an emphasis in marketing and Spanish. She is the current Vice President of Professional Development for the MU International Business Association, a student ambassador and a marketing team member for Mizzou for Malawi. Upon graduation she hopes to work within the marketing/advertising department of a company, that provide opportunities to work abroad.

John Farrell

John is a native of St. Louis. He loves traveling, rock climbing, backpacking, music, art, and fashion. Following graduation, John hopes to use his marketing degree in pursuit of a career that allows him to meet extraordinary people and provide opportunity to blend his interests in with work pursuits.

Mikayla Harrington

Mikayla is working toward a bachelor's degree in business administration. Her emphasis area is in finance and her minor is in wellness. Upon completing her degree, Mikayla hopes to join a corporation that aligns with her health-conscious values, while, simultaneously capitalizing on her corporate finance knowledge.

Jason Hodgins

Jason is a senior at the University of Missouri majoring in sports management, with a minor in business. Upon completing his undergraduate degree, he future plans include attending law school and ultimately running my own firm one day.

Mackenzie Murray

Mackenzie is a junior pursing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in marketing with a minor in psychology. She is highly involved in her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, as the Philanthropy Director and in her professional business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, as the VP of Pledge Education. This summer, she hopes to expand her global mindset by learning more about European business strategies, data analytics and market research. 

Geno Napolitano

Geno is a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in management. Geno is a member of the University of Missouri Investment Group (UMIG) and hopes to apply his knowledge of financial analysis to help strengthen the work he does for the MU International Trade Center. Upon graduation, Geno plans to begin a career in market research analysis and consulting.

Dezirae Orozco

Dezirae enjoys learning about different cultures and languages. Through this internship, she hopes to broaden her perspective and challenge herself to think on a global scale. She is excited to learn more about market research and international trade. After graduation, Dezirae plans to purse a career path that allows her to work and do business internationally.

Jason is a junior at the University of Missouri who is pursuing a degree in psychology. After graduation, he plans to attend law school. Jason aspires to run his own law firm sometime in the future. 

Joshua Pollack

Joshua is a junior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing. Prior to completing his internship with the MU International Center this summer, he will have the opportunity to study abroad in Prague. After graduation, he hopes to pursue a career in sales and marketing.

Sam is a junior from Overland Park, Kansas who is pursuing a dual major in marketing and sport management. Sam hopes to work in the front office of a professional sports team after graduation. His hobbies include golfing, traveling and watching Netflix. 

Kyle Shipman

Kyle is a senior management major. He is also studying computer science and is working on a programming project in my free time. Kyle enjoys the outdoors, and loves getting out to golf, ski, or hike whenever possible. He enjoys meeting new people and looks forward to the opportunities that studying abroad and interning in Prague will provide him in that regard. 

Blake Sutphen

Blake is currently studying finance at the University of Missouri. Upon graduation he plans to pursue a MBA. He hopes to work internationally for an investment bank doing off-cycle markets, or conduct market research that supports the growth and expansion of small businesses.

Emily Huppert

Graduation: May 2019

Emily is a junior majoring in business with an emphasis in marketing and a minoring in hospitality management. In addition to serving as a student manager for the MU International Trade Center, she is involved with Study Abroad as a student manager for the Bergamo, Italy, program. After graduation she hopes to work for a marketing department within a corporation or work for a startup company and focus on branding.

Kathryn Finney

Graduation: Decemeber 2018

Kathryn is a senior pursuing a degree in international business with emphasis in finance. She has experience in customer service, data entry and leadership derived from her duties as an account manager and personal banking associate. Kathryn is an extremely reliable individual, who has the ability to learn quickly and multi-task. After graduation, she hopes to continue her career with a international company working in its finance department.
