Getting involved while in college can be one of the most rewarding experiences available to you at this time in your life. The Upsilon Chapter of AKPsi is a great way to prepare yourself for the life you are planning for in the future. In Alpha Kappa Psi we can make the average business student into a future business leader.

Why now?
College is the chance of a lifetime to define who you are and who you want to be. "Do not wait; the time will never be 'just right.' This quote is from Napoleon Hill, who has been perhaps the most influential man in the area of personal success technical development. Alpha Kappa Psi can offer you a place to start, as well as tools for now and the future.

What is Alpha Kappa Psi?
Alpha Kappa Psi is a professional business fraternity that is dedicated to the professional development of business students. Our mission is "To develop well-trained, ethical, skilled, resourceful, experienced business leaders."

The Upsilon chapter participates in many different activities throughout the school year. These include:

• Finance projects to raise money for the fraternity
• Service projects to benefit the community
• Professional events to prepare members for the world of work
• MANY social gatherings!

Do I have time for this?
We understand that students don't have a lot of free time; remember we are students too. We know that we have to make the time requirements for pledge ship reasonable. As a pledge you can expect to spend about 3-5 hours a week participating with the fraternity; often described by our members as "similar to a 1 hour course." But think about this: once you start getting involved with our activities you will find that you are having way more fun than you are worrying about time. From our perspective we believe that you only get out what you put in. We try to encourage our pledges to participate early on only to find out that they are encouraging themselves because of their personal drive for success. We believe that this attitude is contagious.

Why AKPsi? Why not some other group?
We believe that we can offer something different. As a fraternal organization we can offer, as well as encourage the benefit of brotherhood that other organizations cannot. Not only can AKPsi offer you a network of business students, but also with its more than 270,000 members and alumni nationwide, you can get a wide range of depth. We also attend conferences such as our national convention as well as Success Institute that aide us in our professional goals.

We actively participate in homecoming every fall. We earned the honor of taking first out of all organizations on campus each year since 2001. In 2005, we also entered the talent competition for the first time.  This also marked the first time that any non-Greek organization has entered.  We took 1st place and plan to continue the tradition.  We also dominate during business week by sweeping the competition for since 1998. The strong will and commitment of our members help us to frequently come out on top.

Another great aspect of Alpha Kappa Psi is that you can apply the business concepts that you have learned in school. We have several committees in which you can become involved. In our marketing committee you can learn how to develop web pages and institute marketing plans for specific events. We are also the only professional business organization on campus that manages their own investment portfolio. Our diverse, member-run portfolio has had continuous success since its creation.

Rush Requirements

• Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
• The required time commitment for student Membership in the Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi will be from the date of induction until the date of each individual's respective graduation date. The graduation date must allow for a minimum of 3 semesters of participation, including the pledge semester
• Must be at least a 2nd semester Freshman or have an established college GPA
• Must attend Mandatory rush events:
