The College has two Sony digital camcorders available for use with the multimedia workstation and can be checked out from Instructional Support Services. Digital 8 tapes are used in digital camcorder #1, and mini DVD's are used in digital camcorder #2.
Users are responsible for supplying their own media, which are reasonably priced at the Computer Spectrum (DVD's) or the University Bookstore (VHS and digital 8 tapes). Mini DVD's can be purchased at many major electronics retailers such as Best Buy, and may be available at the University Bookstore in the future.
When purchasing recordable DVD's, note the types that are compatible with the college's current equipment:
DVD R's can be written to once; experience has shown that DVD RW's are good for about 20-30 recordings.
Reservations are required. The workstation is available for reservations 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday via the Outlook calendar "Multimedia Workstation".
