Forum Features Prominent Alumni

Two of the college’s professional fraternities, Alpha Kappa Psi and Delta Sigma Pi, planned and carried out a new event for the College of Business, a Distinguished Alumni Forum. Held on April 29, the inaugural Forum featured Jack and Mary Bush and Harry and Ann Cornell. Naturally, the question-and-answer session was held in the Bush Auditorium in Cornell Hall. Read More

 

Governance Symposium Draws Missouri Bankers

In a symposium on the MU campus, executives and directors of Missouri banks had a timely discussion about corporate governance. Considering that the state of Missouri ranks fifth in the nation in number of banks, a focus on “The Future of Bank Corporate Governance” was relevant for bankers and their boards of directors. Staff Members Receive University and College Awards

Four College of Business staff members received campuswide accolades in April. The next month, two staff members were surprised at the college’s Staff Recognition Luncheon with announcements that they were the recipients of the college’s Outstanding Staff Service Awards for this year. Read More
 

Achievements Recognized at Honors Luncheon

More than 275 students, faculty and staff members, alumni, and friends of the College of Business attended the annual Honors Luncheon held on April 29. Following a long-standing tradition, the top students in the areas of accountancy, economics, finance, real estate, management, marketing, and international business were introduced and applauded. On May 16, about 500 students receiving their degrees from the College of Business in May or August walked across the stage of the Hearnes Center to the applause of family, friends, and faculty members. Read More

Students Conclude Year with Show-Me

Business Week

The college’s Student Council held the annual Show-Me Business Week beginning on April 25. During the week, the students conducted a fundraiser – a Kiss the Pig contest – for the Central Missouri Food Bank, raising more than $3,000. Read More

About the College

The MU College of Business, founded in 1914, enrolls more than 3,600 undergraduate students and over 300 graduate students. The college has four academic units – Accountancy, Finance, Management, and Marketing – with 51 full-time faculty members. The college offers an undergraduate degree in business administration, an MBA degree, a 150-hour program that confers both undergraduate and master’s degrees in accountancy, and PhD degrees in both accountancy and business administration.

The College of Business takes great pride in its graduates. About 30,000 alumni are contributing their expertise to the public and private sectors in every state in the U.S. and in a host of foreign countries.
