Olena Watanabe, CPA, is a doctoral student in the School of Accountancy. Her research interests include financial reporting and auditing. Prior to her admission to the program, Olena worked as a tax and audit services associate at Landers, Weiss and Co. in Columbia, Missouri. She graduated from University of Missouri in 2007 with combined bachelors and masters degrees in accountancy. Olena is a member of the American Accounting Association and holds a CPA license in the state of Missouri. Born in Ukraine and married to a Japanese-American, she is a great admirer of Japanese and Ukrainian culture and at her free time enjoys international literature, arts, performances and food.
