Creator
of TOMS Shoes, Blake Mycoskie has led the entrepreneurial world in
humanitarian business. Mycoskie competed on The Amazing Race, taking
3rd place as he saw the world. Through his travels, he saw the lack of
shoes for children in impoverished nations, a situation that inevitably
led to disease. With this knowledge, he created TOMS Shoes based on the
business principle that for every pair of shoes sold, a pair would be
given to a child in need. This 1-for-1 Movement has given away nearly
140,000 pairs of shoes in 4 countries. This unique business model has
earned TOMS Shoes numerous awards. Mycoskie has been recognized by
President Obama and in an ATT commercial.
