Why an MU Crosby MBA?
What does scaling a 60-foot tower have to do with becoming an MBA? It's the first of many team "projects" new Crosby MBA students will take on at the College of Business. Climbing the tower, with safety ropes held by fellow students, is part of a week-long orientation session where the value of teamwork is made crystal clear.
Flexibility is the key word describing the Crosby MBA program
Students tailor their program, based on previous course work as well as their current interests and career goals. Many students focus on finance, management, marketing or information technology. Alternately, students with unique career goals can develop individualized programs which build on the strength of other areas of the university such as accounting, journalism or computer science. Students can enter the program during the fall, spring or summer semester.
It's far more than just classes
The ongoing Crosby MBA professional development seminar features CEOs, line managers, MBA alumni, and a host of other visitors who share the realities and practicalities of the business world with students. The seminar also helps students with practical skills, such as resume writing, business etiquette, career planning and networking.
The quality of students is outstanding!
The 2007 MBA entering class of approximately 100 students had an average GMAT of 630, an average undergraduate GPA of 3.45 and nearly 2 years work experience. These folks can compete anywhere!
There's so much collaboration with business
Extensive involvement with business in two required consulting courses and real-world projects throughout the curriculum allows students to learn by experience as well as by reading and discussion.
Internship and placement opportunities are still strong
Each year, the College of Business' Career Services Office holds two Career Fairs and numerous on-campus interviews for job-seeking Crosby MBA students. Leading employers include major consulting firms, regional banks, and both large and medium size businesses of all types.
It recognizes my background
Students complete a minimum of 32 and a maximum of 68 semester hours depending upon prior course work. A typical program for someone with previous business course work is 46 hours, but no business background is required. Students normally enroll for 13-15 hours in the Fall and Spring Semesters and may choose to enroll in six hours during the Summer Session. While the Crosby MBA is a day-time program, students may pursue the degree on a full-time or part-time basis.
I won't be broke when I'm done
The tuition at MU is affordable and the cost of living in Columbia is low. Many MBAs have academic credentials which allow them to qualify for scholarships or graduate assistantships which pay a stipend of $2,334 per semester and come with a full tuition waiver. There is a significantly large amount of financial support available for Crosby MBA students.
This program fits just right
The Crosby MBA program is designed to allow participants the flexibility to pursue their own interests. MU's Crosby MBA program is designed to be small, with current total enrollment of 208 students. You won't be a number here.

Various faculty hold editorial positions at academic journals or serve as officers of professional associations. The talented teachers at MU take great pride in creating the most fertile environment for ideas, theory and discovery.
