The walk-up convenience copiers:
All of the walk-up copiers require a 5-digit authorization number. To obtain a number for business purposes, please see your unit administrative staff person. For an authorization number for non-business usage, contact Barbara Railton, 221 Cornell Hall, 882-2850.
Savin 2522 copiers –There are 3 savin copiers located in the College of Business, that are intended to be used as convenience copiers for university business copies for College of Business faculty and staff. These machines only copy 22 copies per minute. Please keep your totals for these machines to a minimum, (Take your originals times the number of copies – if this totals 100, then it would take approximately 5 minutes) Anything over 100 impressions (5 minutes) should be taken to ISS for completion (room 221). Those who have a folder full of copies that need one or two copies of each original, just keep in mind to let others go ahead if you are going to have the machine tied up for a long period of time doing your various copy jobs. Please remind your student helpers to be courteous if they are running various small jobs for you that are time consuming. Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated, and hopefully, alleviate some of the waiting for the Digital walk up copier.
You can now print to the Savin copiers from your PC. To have your computer configured to do this, please send a COBIS tech request to Technology Services.
Xerox Digital 265 (located in room 404A) - The Xerox Digital 265 copier, is intended to be used as a convenience copier for university business copies for College of Business faculty and staff. I would like to ask your help in keeping the congestion down for the Digital walk-up copier. Please keep your totals for this machine to a minimum, (Take your originals times the number of copies – if this totals 300, then it would take approximately 5 minutes). Anything over 300 impressions (5 minutes) should be taken to ISS for completion (room 221).
Instructional Support Services copier: Ricoh 1085
The Ricoh 1085 copier used by the operator accommodates the major share of the long-run copy jobs for the College. A “Copy Service Request” form should be completed for all job orders given to the operator. Please number your originals, as this helps the operator if there should be a document jam and the pages get out of order. If you don’t want to number the front of the originals you may number the back. Remove all staples and use paper clips. Count your original pages and put the total on the form. (The forms are available in the C of B Instructional Support Services; departmental offices should also have a supply available). All job orders should be signed, and the MoCode and PS account should be listed on each order before the job will be completed. Please put originals in folder.
When the job is picked up and signed for by the person accepting the completed work, the pink copy is returned to the appropriate unit. The white and yellow copies are retained by ISS for billing purposes.
Every attempt is made to provide one-day turn-around of job orders received. When a large project or large exam is anticipated, adequate notice should be given to the operator so that other projects may be arranged to permit timely completion. Turn-around time varies with the size of the project. To the extent possible, please give as much lead-time as possible when dropping off job orders. Remember that there may be other high priority jobs already received by the ISS operator and scheduled for completion, which are as urgent as your job. Advance notice will hopefully allow for maximum quality and efficiency.
The Instructional Support Services operator provides maximum security for exams throughout the reproduction process. It is strongly suggested that examination pages be numbered so that if a page is missing, it will be more easily noticed. Although the operator will check the exams for the number of copies requested and spot check for accuracy, all copies of exams should be picked up by the faculty or other authorized person in time to allow for a final checking for complete accuracy.
*EXAMS WILL NOT BE GIVEN TO UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS.
Submit your copy request electronically
You are now able to submit your copy jobs electronically, using Outlook. You can go to tool, then forms and then chose form “UMC COB Printing Request”.
Please keep in mine when submitting a job electronically that if the operator is out of the office un-expectantly the job will not be received until the operator returns.
Procedure when operator is not available
- If the operator is not available, copy jobs can be deposited in mailbox 104 for the operator, which is located on the south wall mailboxes in the corner. (Do not deposit any exams or other confidential material). Remember all jobs left for the operator, must have a Copy Service Request form attached and completed with your MoCode and PS account number.
- If the job cannot be left in the depository (mailbox 104), the unit assistant should be contacted for further instructions/help. It may be that a staff person can run the job or perhaps take the job to the Quick Copy Centers in Brady or Jesse Hall.
- If the Xerox Digital copier (room 404a) jams or needs toner and you leave it without clearing your job, when the problem has been fixed, your job will resume automatically. To clear your job, press the Job Status button on the copier and highlight your job and delete it. This is especially important if you are running an exam.
Billing
Fiscal Year 2005-2006 billing rates are as follows:
The ISS manager completes the billing at the end of each month. Internal Service Entries are prepared and forwarded along with supporting documentation to the appropriate unit for verification. Personal copies will be billed to the appropriate individual or organization.
All cash/personal jobs that are charged will need to be paid by the DUE DATE on the invoice, unless special arrangements have been made. If cash/personal bills are not paid by due date, authorization numbers will be deleted, and any copies made will need to be paid for at the time of service.
In addition to white copy paper, the operator keeps the following paper at no extra charge.
3-hole punched
Recycled (gray color)
At an additional charge, the following paper is available:
25% bond paper
20# colored paper (blue, goldenrod, green, pink, cherry, buff, canary, orchid and salmon)
