Finance and Banking (Emphasis in Real Estate)
The Real Estate emphasis is for students contemplating a career in real estate investment, property management, mortgage banking, or associated fields.
Students electing the Real Estate Emphasis must be accepted into the BSBA with emphasis in Finance and Banking. Students earn the Real Estate Emphasis by taking the following courses in addition to the required Finance and Banking coursework.
Finance 4500 (Fall) - Principles of Real Estate (3 credit hours)
Principle factors influencing land use, practices in real estate business.
Finance 4510 (Winter) - Real Estate Appraisal (3 credit hours)
Procedures for valuing industrial, commercial, residential realty by market, income, replacement cost approaches. Case method, field investigations.
Finance 4520 (Winter) - Real Estate Finance and Investment (3 credit hours)
Financing of residential , commercial , and industrial real estate and real estate development. Instruments, institutions, and markets; role of government agencies; investment qualities of real estate.
